Instructions

      Unplug the drill or remove the drill's battery pack.

      Insert the chuck key into the drill collar. The collar is the part of the drill that the bit goes into. Only one end of the chuck key will fit into the hole on the collar.

      Turn the chuck key counter clockwise to loosen the bit that is currently in the drill.

      Remove the loosened bit from the collar and replace it with the correct size bit for your current task.

      Place the chuck key back into the collar of the drill and turn it clockwise to tighten the collar around the new drill bit.

Tips & Warnings

  • If there are no holes in the collar of your drill you may not need a chuck key. Some collars are loosened and tightened by hand.
