Instructions

Determine the location for the toilet. Carefully measure and mark out the location for the toilet, taking into account the need for electrical power, water supply and the route for the discharge hose. Once you have selected the location, carefully mark it on the floor, double-checking your measurements before proceeding.

    • 2

Set the toilet. Once in use, the toilet will be much heavier due to the water reserve. At installation it should be fairly easy to move and place correctly. Using the level, make certain the toilet is level to ensure proper operation.

    • 3

Attach utility lines to the unit. The unit will come with a standard power cord, which will need to be plugged into a wall outlet. Once power is supplied, connect the water line to the inlet valve. Be certain the connection is secure and will not leak.

    • 4

Install the discharge hose. Run the discharge hose from the unit to the upper level where it will be merged with your other drain systems. The unit has a built in back-flow valve, so you will not need to install one. Be certain to have the least amount of vertical travel as possible to help prevent clogs.

Connect other bathroom elements. A unique aspect of the Saniflo system is that it is designed to have a sink drain as well as a shower/tub drain attached to it as well. This makes it a perfect selection for a basement bathroom.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can purchase units that are strictly designed as a toilet and nothing more. This unit allows for an entire bathroom to be plumbed through a single unit. If you feel you may add a sink or shower to the room at some point, you may want to consider this unit now and leave the other inlets capped of until needed.

  • Even the best upflushing toilet has limitations. You will want to attempt to limit the amount of waste put into the toilet.
