Printable greeting cards are a good way to have an inexpensive card available for any occasion. There are many different software programs that allow you to create and print greeting cards, including Microsoft Publisher, which comes in the Microsoft Office suite of software. Creating your own greeting cards allows you to personalize the card to the recipient with photos and messages. Printing the cards on special card paper can give the cards a professional look without the cost.

Instructions

    Designing and Printing the Card

  1. Step 1

Open Microsoft Publisher and choose the "Greeting Cards" option. You can choose the occasion category for your card, then the card design template that you want to use. You can also choose to use a blank template if you want to design your card from scratch.

  2. Step 2

Choose the color and font schemes and what type of folding your card will have.

  3. Step 3

Insert your own photos on the card's cover by selecting "Insert," then "Picture," then "From File." Resize the photo so that it fits on the card where you want it.

  4. Step 4

Edit the inside message by clicking "Page 3." You can select, edit or insert any interior text or pictures here.

  5. Step 5

Print the card once it is finished. Put the card paper into the printer and select "Print." Once the card is printed, fold according to the folding option you chose at the beginning. For half-fold cards, you should only need to fold the card in half widthwise. For quarter-fold cars, you will fold once in half widthwise and once in half lengthwise, but the order depends on whether it is a top or side fold card.
