How to Install a Mercedes Hood Ornament

Things You'll Need

• Pliers
• A cloth

Instructions

1. Grasp the ornament with the soft cloth to prevent scratches to the bodywork.

2. Using the pliers, grasp and compress the outer shell of the base of the hood ornament.

3. While holding the base, turn the ornament counterclockwise until the release cuts are lined up.

4. Pull upward on the old ornament to remove it.

5. Insert the new hood ornament into the outer shell of the base and turn clockwise to fit.

Tips & Warnings

• Cover the ornament with a soft cloth while you are working with it to prevent scratches. Certain models of Mercedes Benz hood ornament have metal tabs underneath the hood.
