Poser 7 is the premier tool for creating active 3-D models and animation. One of its most useful features is its ability to create dynamic simulations of the behavior of real material as it drapes across a figure.
If you have created a dynamic cloth in a modeling program you want to use in the Poser Cloth Room, save it as a dynamic figure/prop in your library. Read on to find out how to make it a form-fitting piece of clothing.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Poser 7
  1. Step 1

Go to the Figures Library and double-click on the figure for whom you designed the dynamic clothing. The program will switch out the default figure and replace it with the one you selected.

  2. Step 2

Go to File and select Import. Find the dynamic clothing object you made and select it. Use the positioning dials on the Parameter Panel to adjust the clothing's position so that it in no way intersects with the figure.

  3. Step 3

Go to the Cloth Room and start a new simulation. Keep all of the default settings, but select the figure in the Collide Against dialogue and change the number of frames to six.

  4. Step 4

Run the simulation. Depending on your system, this may take some time. When the simulation finishes, the cloth should drape naturally over the figure. Click on frame six.

  5. Step 5

Go to the Props library and click the plus button to add the clothing prop to the library for later use. In the dialogue that opens, tell Poser what item in the scene you want to save as a prop by selecting the cloth item from the list.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure your model has a great number of polygons or it may not drape properly.
