The iTunes program only allows users to view the contents of one iPod at a time. This can be annoying if you want to compare the contents of one iPod with the contents of another. Fortunately, there is an easy way to connect two iPods to one computer and view the songs and videos found on both units.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Plug one of the iPods into your computer. Open iTunes if it doesn't open automatically.

  2. Step 2

Select your iPod from the list of options found on the left side of iTunes. This takes you to the main page for that iPod.

  3. Step 3

Click the empty box next to Enable Disk Use. A check mark will appear in that box.

  4. Step 4

Unplug the iPod, but leave iTunes open.

  5. Step 5

Repeat Steps 1 through 3 with the second iPod.

  6. Step 6

Plug the second iPod into a different USB port and then close iTunes.

  7. Step 7

Open My Computer. You will see the two iPods listed underneath Devices with Removable Storage. From there, you can double-click the listed iPods and copy the music from the iPods to the computer or delete files from the iPods.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you are using a laptop, it is wise to plug the computer into a wall outlet during this procedure because both iPods will charge while they are hooked up to the computer.
