Things You'll Need:
- Microsoft ActiveSync
- Microsoft Outlook
-
Step 1
Install ActiveSync only without OutlookBefore connecting your phone to computer, install both ActiveSync and Outlook.
*If you don’t install Outlook, you can only synchronize file, favorites, and other non-outlook information. That means you WILL NOT be able to retrieve your contacts, calendar, and tasks from the phone (see figure). However, you can still access your phone and drag/delete files via “My computer” –> "Mobile Device” (but you still CAN’T access your contacts stuffs) -
Step 2
Do not connect the phone to computer. Open Outlook. Outlook will ask you to set up an account, ignore it unless you want to use it to check email.
-
Step 3
LEAVE OUTLOOK OPEN. Turn your phone on and connect it to computer. ActiveSync will run automatically, and a wizard window will pop-up, asking you to set up a partnership with your phone and computer.
-
Step 4
After the wizard, your ActiveSync should show “Connected”. Click “Sync” on ActiveSync. ActiveSync will start getting contacts, calendar, tasks and other data (the items that you pre-set in the previous wizard) from your phone. Outlook will automatically get the contacts, calendar, and tasks data. Now you can manage and edit these data on Outlook.
-
Step 5
After you done with the changes, click “save” on Outlook. If you want to send the modified data back to your phone, don’t close Outlook, and click “sync” on ActiveSync.
