I know the pros told a lot of the average investors to just give up and put their money in a index fund, but you might be able to beat the market and sleep without worrying about the market conditions. I know a way that out perform every stock market strategy and that strategy is, value investing. Here some tips on how to become a value investor.

1. Buy stocks in large companies. You can buy stocks in small companies, but it's better to buy shares of large companies because they have a long track record. I would buy blue chip stocks in companies that have a good balance sheets and steady cash flow.

2. Buy stocks that have low p/e ratios. You want to buy stocks in a bear markets while their cheap, so you can double or triple your profit when the stock market goes back up.

3. Buy stocks in companies that sell products that are always consumed or in demand. If you buy stocks in products like chocolate, chewing gum and under wears. If the stock market was to close down tomorrow kids will still be eating chocolate, people will still be chewing bubble gum and people will still be wearing under wear.

4. Study warren buffet. Warren buffet is the great stock market investor of all time. He is literal the Michael Jordan of wall street. If you want to learn how to invest like him. I recommend you buy and read his book buffetology.
