Step 1
The most obvious way to raise nice kids is to be nice yourself. It is totally true that children live what they learn.

Step 2
Encourage your kids to think about the feelings of others. Children are often totally unaware of the feelings of others. I have seen my children insult another child and have no idea they did so. So while example is important, remember to be specific when teaching kids to be nice.
Always encourage them when you witness their good behavior. Let's face it we all love a little bit of praise. -
Step 3
Remind your kids that the actions of others do not justify their actions. So if they have mean kids in school or in dance class, etc..
this does not mean they get to be mean. -
Step 4
We are responsible for our children so don't expect school to teach them right from wrong. If you want nice kids, you need to be proactive.

on 6/26/2009 Kids mirror what they see. We have to be examples and we should remember that letting our children watch things on TV is giving them permission to mirror that behavior. 5*
