1
Prevent dry, brittle and damaged hair by making moisture a part of your hair care routine. Never skip conditioner when washing your hair. Once a week, use a deep conditioning treatment.

2
Dry hair after a shower by patting it gently with a towel. Avoid twisting your hair up in the towel or rubbing the towel on your hair, which can make frizz worse. Squeeze your hair in the towel and work in a leave-in conditioner, avoiding the roots and paying special attention to the ends.

Allow your hair to air dry until slightly damp, if possible. Work a small amount of light gel or mousse through your hair and blow dry with a large round bristle brush. Hold the dryer at least 6 inches from your hair, following the brush as you pull it through your hair to the ends. Look for a blow dryer that has ion technology.

Use a hot flat iron to straighten any wavy areas of your hair and smooth the top layer. Ceramic or gold-plated straighteners work the best. Comb a smoothing serum through your hair, avoiding the roots. Do not use too much or you will end up with greasy looking hair.

Tame flyaways with a light aerosol hairspray.

Tips & Warnings
After you've straightened and tamed your hair, avoid getting it wet.
If you're short on time, wash and dry your hair the night before. Sleeping on it helps flatten and de-frizz it.
Use caution while using a flat iron -- they are extremely hot and can cause serious burns.
