Yoghurt Chicken is an Indian dish which you can prepare at your home with ease. Yoghourt helps in digesting your food properly. This authentic Indian dish will be the perfect one for those who love little bit spicy food.Let's try it out at home.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Chicken
  • Yogurt
  • Ginger & Garlic Paste
  • Oil
  • Masala
  • Onion
  1. Step 1

    Wash properly around 2 lb of chicken and cut into small pieces. Take 0.5 lb of plain Yoghurt, 1 tbs each of ginger and garlic paste, 1tsp of turmeric powder, 1 tsp of red chilli powder, salt as per your taste. Marinate chicken with these spices and yoghurt. Keep the marinated chicken in an oven bowl and cover it with foil and refrigerate it around 1-2 hours to absorb the flavor.

  2. Step 2

    Add 3 tbs of olive/vegetable oil in a frying pan and add 1 big onion finely chopped. Fry the onions till it turns golden brown and keep it aside. After one hour take out the marinated chicken bowl from the refrigerator. Add onion and the remaining oil from the frying pan to the bowl. Add a small cup of water to the chicken.

  3. Step 3

    Put the bowl in the oven with 400F and cook for 45 minutes till the chicken is tender. After removing from oven garnish with coriander leaves. If you want to have it little bit spicy then you can add cinnamon, cardamom powder (around 1tsp). You can eat yoghurt chicken with rice/naan/bread.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can add other spices like cumin seeds and coriander powder if you really want a spicy chicken dish.
  • You can add tomato puree along with yoghurt to get tomato flavor.
  • If you have a sweet tooth then you can little bit(1tbs) of sugar while marinating the chicken.
  • If the chicken is not tendered till after 45 minutes then check the chicken and keep it for another 5-10 minutes.
