If you have multiple email accounts and are tired of opening each email account separately or forget to check an email account because you have so many, then there is a solution for you. You can manage all you email accounts in one window with Windows Live. Windows Live is a free program developed by Microsoft that allows you to manage multiple email accounts at once.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • computer
  • internet connection
  1. Step 1

To get started, either Google search ‘Windows Live download’ or ‘download Windows Live’ and click on the first link, or click on the link provided in Resources (below article).

  2. Step 2

Once you are at the Windows Live website choose the language that you want the program to be in and click ‘Download’.

  3. Step 3

A small window will pop-up and ask you if you want to save the ‘.exe’, setup file. Click ‘Save’.

  4. Step 4

If you see a window asking if you want to ‘Cancel’ or ‘Allow’, click ‘Allow’.

  5. Step 5

You will now be asked where you want to save the Windows Live setup file (or your file will be saved to a folder that you have chosen all downloads to be downloaded to – if you have set up this feature). Choose a folder you will be able to find the setup program once it has downloaded and then click ‘Save’. Saving setup files to the ‘Desktop’ is easiest as you can have it at your finger tips.

  6. Step 6

Once the Windows Live setup has downloaded, locate the file on your computer and double-click it.

  7. Step 7

An installation window will pop-up. Follow the instructions.

  8. Step 8

Before the installation begins you will be asked to choose which free Microsoft programs you want to install such as Windows Live Messenger, Movie Maker Beta, etc. Click on each of the programs to read about them and then check or uncheck the boxes next to the programs that you want or don’t want. Make sure that the ‘Mail’ program is checked, the program that will allow you to manage multiple email accounts at once.

  9. Step 9

Continue with the Windows Live installation according to the instructions. Once the installation has completed you will want to restart your computer.

  10. Step 10

Open Windows Live if it isn’t already open. You are now ready to start adding email accounts by clicking on ‘Add e-mail account’ on the left hand side of the window.

  11. Step 11

Follow the instructions to add an email account. On the second page of the instructions you will be asked to type in and choose ‘incoming server information’. Click on ‘Where can I find my e-mail server information’ if you are having trouble finding your server information for your email accounts (link in Resources, below article). Usually, this information can be found in the settings area of your email account.

  12. Step 12

Once you have configured Windows Live you will be better able to manage and use multiple email accounts at once, from one window, online or offline for free.
