In tough times you have to keep a positive outlook and what better way to bring everyone else to your view than with a positive party!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Friends, strangers and family.
  • A positive, fun personality.
  1. Step 1

Call on friends, family and even friends of friends. Tell them you are having a party. The theme will be positive! Everything, everyone is going to be positive. Since this is the first party you'll do the planning with a little help from all of them.
Let them know ahead of time so they can think about their own attitude that everyone will come up with one positive thought to start things swinging.

  2. Step 2

You need to plan the food. You can provide it all or divide the labor with a few others. Nothing is more positive than chocolate! So be sure to have a big chocolate cake with chocolate frosting. As for the rest of the menu plan to have deli meats and cheeses for sandwiches, fresh fruit and vegetables and wine coolers all around.

  3. Step 3

Next is decoration. You want it to be bright and happy. If you have happy pictures from vacations then stick them to the refrigerator. Ask everyone to bring a happy picture of themselves or family to add to the collection for the night. They can take their pictures home at the end of the evening.
Use a table cloth in a bright color. Pic nic red and white check, bright yellow, green or blue. A couple of vases or bowls of flowers, real or fake. It brightens up the night and everyone will feel a touch of spring. Cut out sun's with a smile on their face, happy fluffy clouds and animal shapes with silly faces.
Anything positive will do the trick.

  4. Step 4

When your guest begin to arrive greet them with a smile and tell them they look wonderful and must be doing something right in their life. Keep the smiles going.
Once everyone has arrived make introductions and say something positive about each person you introduce.
For the first game each must make a statement about the question they were all given prior to coming to the party. Any question will do as long as they can find a positive in it. Such as "say something about jobs today" or "what good thing have you done this week" or "name one good thing someone has done for you this week".
Next you are going to provide paper and crayons to everyone and have them draw and color a monster with a silly face. It's for laughs and who ever wins get a coloring book and crayons as a gift.
Now for the eating and talking. All must be as positive as possible for this first party.
For the last part of the party discuss with everyone how they can bring a positive difference to themselves, someone in the group or the community and find a way to make it happen.
You can also choose a positive theme for the next party at this time now that everyone knows how to play. Make it something to help someone in the group or each other. You can have a positive food exchange, donations for a charity or yard cleaning for someone.

Tips & Warnings
  • Assure everyone you will help each other.
  • If someone has a problem find a positive way to help.
