Step 1
First and foremost get in the habit of adding your web site address to everything they way you do your phone number. As a small business have your web address printed on every flyer, business card or print advertisement that you design. Have it on any item you would have your phone number on.
-
Step 2
Sponsor community events and local sports teams. Any banner or tee-shirt where you would normally promote your name add your web site address. Have an easy to remember web address. Sponsor a youth league soccer, baseball or football team. Have the web address be where team members go for game and practice times. Add other teams schedules and let the other coaches add games and practices to the web calendar.
-
Step 3
Add a local community calendar to your website. As a small business most of your sales are in the local community. promote events, parades, city festivals and anything you can think of. Have the event organizers use your web site to get information out. Let them drive traffic to the page with the info and help sponsor the event.
-
Step 4
Promote your web site in any free or paid classified ads in newspapers. If you pay for a larger print ad, instead of a large coupon using expensive space have your web address point people to an online coupon or discount.
