Using orange oil as part of your dog grooming is very healthy and good.

Did you know dogs can benefit from orange oil and its soothing effects? When you do your next dog grooming, consider using orange oil in the dog final rinse. Not only will orange oil help to relax your dog while grooming, it’s great for a dog’s coat. I’ve been using orange oil on my beagle for several years as part of her dog grooming regime. When you bathe your dog, consider using orange oil in the dog final rinse.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Combine 1 part orange oil and 4 parts water in a spray bottle. You can store this in the refrigerator to keep it fresh.

  2. Step 2

Take your dog to your traditional dog grooming area. Give the dog a bath like you normally do when dog grooming.

  3. Step 3

Label the bottle: dog grooming orange oil.

  4. Step 4

After you rinse your dog, run your hands up and down the dog’s coat and remove excess water from the bathing process.

  5. Step 5

Lightly spray your dog with the orange oil from the bottle you labeled dog grooming orange oil. Avoid the eyes and sensitive areas.

  6. Step 6

Massage the orange oil into the dog’s coat after spraying.

  7. Step 7

Towel dry your dog as you normally do when dog grooming. Your dog should feel better and more relaxed while having a shinier coat.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always praise and reward your pet during dog grooming.

on 5/18/2009 I would have never thought to use orange oil on the dog - but it makes perfect sense and is a much better option than some of the pet perfume/deodorizer sprays.
