How to Install an Artec Scanner to Computer
Artec is an electronics and computer hardware manufacturer. Many individuals and businesses use scanners developed by this company. Learn how to install an Artec scanner on your computer to begin photocopying and scanning forms, photographs and other documents.

Insert the installation disk that came with the scanner into your computer. The Windows installation wizard will appear on the screen. Follow the on-screen prompts to install the Artec scanner drivers. If you have misplaced the installation disk, you may download the appropriate drivers from the Artec website (see Resources).

Close all open programs except for essential software such as your antivirus and firewall programs.

Plug the Artec scanner into your computer using the included USB cable. After several seconds, a dialog bubble will appear in the lower right-hand corner of your screen to alert you that Windows senses new hardware. Click the bubble to bring up the Windows Hardware Installation wizard.

Follow the on-screen prompts in the installation wizard to complete the installation of the scanner. The wizard will sense the drivers you installed in Step 1 and immediately link them to the scanner.

Begin using the Artec scanner. Place a document onto the glass plate of the scanner with the edge of the document in the top left-hand corner of the plate. Close the scanner's lid and press the scan button. The Artec scanning software will launch on your computer and display the finished scanned image.
