How to Get the Task Bar Back in Outlook Express

When you open Outlook Express, the program appears in your task bar --- the bar at the bottom of your screen. You can choose to hide Outlook Express to save room for other programs. To get Outlook Express back in the task bar, you need to use the small icon in your systems tray on the right side of the screen.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Find the Outlook icon in your systems tray on lower right side of your screen.

  2. Step 2

    Right-click on the icon. A small menu will appear.

  3. Step 3

    Uncheck or deselect "Hide When Minimized." The program will now appear in your task bar when you minimize Outlook Express.

  4. Step 4

    To open Outlook Express, double-click on program in your task bar. Now when you minimize the program or move to another open window, the program remains visible in the task bar.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you want to open Outlook, and it is not in your task bar, double click on the Outlook icon in your systems tray.
