Cricket, while not overly popular in the United States, is a very popular sport in England, India, and Australia. You can see what cricket is like by playing a cricket sim video game such as Cricket Captain 2008.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Download your trial version of Cricket Captain 2008 from the link below. This may take a few minutes, especially on slower connections.

  2. Step 2

Install the program by running "Setup.exe." This will require at least 300 MB of hard drive space, so be sure you have that much available. Once the program is installed, click on the "International Cricket Captain 2008" desktop icon to run the game.

  3. Step 3

Click on "Exhibition Match" to quickly get started with a game between any two international teams. Click on the "Main Menu" to bring up your team roster, where you can click on any player and read their stats.

  4. Step 4

Adjust your bowler's aggressiveness once the game is underway by clicking on the Aggression Bar on the upper right of the screen. Increased aggression will increase your chances of taking wickets. Decreased aggression will prevent you from giving up runs, and help you conserve stamina. Low stamina will result in slightly decreased accuracy for your bowler.

  5. Step 5

Click on the area where you wish to pitch the ball. This will bowl the ball towards the batter. Repeat this until it is your turn as batsman.

  6. Step 6

Adjust your batter's aggressiveness once the game is underway by clicking on the Aggression Bar on the upper right of the screen. Increased aggression will increase your chances of scoring. Decreased aggression will help you to defend the wicket.

  7. Step 7

Once you have mastered the game basics, return to the main menu and start a full season. This will allow you to further train or fire your players by clicking on their names in the roster and pressing the appropriate button.
