Many PDA phones on market are using Windows Mobile operation system, which provide you the same platform that you’re familiar on your personal computer. However, a phone using a Window’s system also means your phone can be quickly screwed up by virus, file defragments, ect. In this case, hard reset your phone (just like reinstall windows system on your computer) may be a good idea.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Place your Tilt on table, face up. use two fingers to press the two soft keys (the two keys that has a “—" on your phone panel) firmly. Don’t let go, now insert your stylus to the hard reset button, which locates on the right lower corner of your phone.

Press the button in and KEEP this position (holding 2 soft keys and pressing 1 hard reset key at the same time) UNTIL you see a white screen shows up, saying your phone will be hard reset.

  3. Step 3

The sentence on white screen will ask you to press the “SEND” key, which is the GREEN PHONE key on the phone.

  4. Step 4

The screen will keep showing your the status and instruction of the reinstallation. You’ll need to align the stylus, learn some stylus techniques (can skip), and then the device will automatically reboot. Just follow the screen instruction for a couple more steps, you’ll get your phone refreshed.

Tips & Warnings
  • Many people claimed this method did not work until 20 or 30 tried, I guess they just press the hard reset key once but not keep pressing it. In this case, the white screen will display for a second, but disappear right away when you withdraw your stylus.
  • This method WON'T help you get rid of the ATT bloatwares.
  • Do BACKUP your contacts, calendar, tasks and everything you stored on the phone, because a hard reset will clean everything you put in the phone and restore the phone back to its factory default stage.
