1. Find out if your neighborhood or town sponsers an annual sale. If so try to plan yours around this date. Traffic will be significantly higher at your sale if members of your community are having theirs the same day. If so contact person in charge of sale planning and see how you can get involved.

2. Go through all areas of you home and remove anything that you havent used in last 6 months. Chances are you dont really need this item. Consider telling friends and family about your sale and ask them if they would like to bring items to sell as well. Larger garage sales will appeal to a bigger audiance.

3. Make organized list of all items you are selling. Use this list to advertise what you will have available at you sale.

4. Post signs around your town advertising your sale. Place balloons on your mailbox to get additional attention as people walk or drive by.

5. Price and set up your items on tables in you garage. It is important to keep your prices low so you are not stuck with items after your sale. Items that are priced right will quickly sell.

6. After sale has closed gather all remaining items and drive them directly to be donated.
