There are so many things to remember when you have a little one, toys, bottles, diapers, wipes....this list is endless. How do you remember it all? The key is planning and having a well stocked diaper bag that you keep ready to go by the door or better yet in your car. A diaper bag is after all meant to house your supplies when you are AWAY FROM HOME!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Diapers
  • Wipes
  • Changes of clothing including light sweater and socks
  • Formula
  • Pacifier
  • Toy
  • Book
  • Diaper rash ointment
  • Tylenol, Colic and Gas medicine.
  • Beanie
  • Blanket
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Baby Bottle
  • Bottle of water
  • Plastic bag for dirty diaper disposal.
  • Bibs
  1. Step 1

A well stocked diaper bag can be a lifesaver when you are somewhere with your little one and you are exposed to unexpected events, such as a drastic change in weather or the unexpected illness of your baby. Start by purchasing a diaper bag that you like. There are numerous stylish diaper bags in the market for mom and dad.

  2. Step 2

Make your list of essential items. This list will be long but they are all necessary to make sure that you are not caught off guard being unprepared. I keep my diaper bag in the car at all times and restock items as needed. All items I use are put back in the diaper bag unless they are in need of a wash. Do not use this bag for household use. Yes, this means that you will need to have 2 fever medicines but you will never be without it if your baby gets ill while traveling!

  3. Step 3

Okay, so back to that list. Your well stocked diaper bag will contain diapers, wipes, 1 hot weather outfit, 1 cold weather outfit, 1 light sweater, 2 bibs, 1 pair socks, 1 beanie, 1 blanket, Tylenol and any other need medications such as colic and gas medicines, baby rash ointment, 2 pacifiers, toys, book, baby bottle, formula container, a snack for toddlers, bottle of water, hand sanitizer and plastic bag for tossing out dirty diapers.

  4. Step 4

Sounds like alot of items but with all this on board you can be sure that you will be ready for any situation that comes your way. The most important thing that I cannot stress enough is to keep this bag in the car and ONLY use when you are traveling. Restock as needed and replace items as you baby grows! When I took my kids to daycare I arranged to leave a bag at the facility and the provider would inform me when I needed to add a change of clothing to the bag or would check the bag on a bi-weekly basis to make sure that the kids had all their neccessities. It is hard enough to carry the little ones without having to add a bag on your shoulders. I try to do whatever can make my life easier! This has taken alot of the stress out of traveling with my little ones. Hope this helps you.
