When losing weight there is not one simple answer that will take the weight off for every person because of the fact that we are all built differently. What works for one person will not necessarily work for another, however, I have learned that if you put the time into yourself and learn what will work for you-you can and will be on your way to a slimmer and healthier body.

I am not a nutritionist or even a physical fitness trainer but I am a woman who just recently lost 20 pounds in 4 ½ months by simply following my own set of rules to become a healthier me. And as you may hear my rules are basically just diet and exercise, still you might find something new to help you reach your goal. I am not saying it is going to be 100 percent easy but become motivated and it just might help. Here are my tips to becoming a slimmer healthier you.

  1. Step 1

    Realize that we do not have to eat for fun, we only need to eat for energy and once we eat more than we need that is when it turns into fat.

    Eat a more balanced meal, a little from each food pyramid group.

  3. Step 3

    Eat in variety; eat fruits & vegetables from all different color groups.

  4. Step 4

    Cut sweets-such as cake, candy, cookies ect out of your diet, however do not deprive yourself allow yourself to eat them moderately.Cut out condiments they add calories.

  5. Step 5

    Keep a daily journal and record everything you ate for the day.
    Set goals for yourself start small and once you completed one set a new one.

  6. Step 6

    Eat off smaller size plates so that it looks like your getting more. When making your dinner plate, fill it up with mostly vegetables so that there is less room for the other stuff, this way you are eating more (of the healthier stuff)vegetables'.Do not finish everything on your plate leave some

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not stop taking in any nutrients' (for example carbohydrates) because we need them all to stay healthy.
  • For a snack freeze grapes they will take longer to eat that way and you still get the sensation of eating something sweet.
  • Find something that will help keep you motivated to losing weight, for example I love fashion so I brought a shirt that I wanted to be able to wear and look good in it, so every time I thought of cheating I looked at that shirt and told myself if I cheat it is going to take me longer to get in it.
  • NO fast food.
