If you take lots of photos, especially on vacation, they can start to look a little boring after a while. One way to spruce up your photo collection up is to always try to take some photos that are spontaneous. I particularly enjoy taking photos where I am jumping or leaping. The photos themselves turn out great, and the process can create a great memory. So grab your digital camera and maybe some friends, and catch a frame of a memorable place in a memorable way!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Digital Camera
  1. Step 1

Determine what you want in the background of your photo and whether you want to leap over or off of something.

  2. Step 2

If you're alone, set your digital camera to it's timer function and find a level and secure surface to place it on. Make sure you know exactly how many seconds your camera counts down before it will take the picture. If you are in a group decide who will take the picture.

  3. Step 3

Time your leap so that you will be in the in the air on the count of 3. That means you should run or walk on 1 and 2 and prep for your jump by lunging or squatting on the "and" count before 3. Practice this once with your group and make sure the photographer knows when to take the picture.

  4. Step 4

You're ready for the real thing. If you're alone set you're camera to start counting down, and if your in a group get every one together and run 1, run 2, squat down "and", and jump on three!

  5. Step 5

Check your camera to make sure the picture came out how you wanted. You may have to try it a few times to get it just right.

Tips & Warnings
  • It's not so much about how high you jump, but how big your movements are. Kick up your legs and spread out those arms!
  • Be sure to plan a jump or leap that is within your physical limitations. An injury is not a good memory!
