Step 1
All of the steps are written for a golfer that is right handed. If you are left handed reverse the directions.
-
Step 2
Set the club in your left hand. The end of the club should extend about an inch past the edge of your hand. Grip the golf club with your finger, not by holding it against your palm. Your thumb should be pointing down the shaft of the club.
-
Step 3
Rotate your left hand slightly clockwise as you look down at it so that the triangle make by the thumb and index finger of your left hand points toward your right shoulder.
-
Step 4
Take you right hand and slide it down the club meeting your right hand. As you do this you right hand should slide over your left thumb, and your right pinky finger over the left index finger.
-
Step 5
Move your left index finger down some giving you room to interlock your right pinky finger with it. This strengthens your grip, and prevents twisting in the swing.
-
Step 6
The triangle formed between your right index finger and thumb should also point towards your right shoulder if you grip a golf club correctly.
