Today it's important to do all we can to protect ourselves from germs. A public bathroom is loaded with unwanted germs. Learning how to protect your self in a public restroom can be done with several important steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Clorox or baby wipes,effort
  1. Step 1

Public restrooms are loaded with germs. Learn to protect your family and yourself when using them.

  2. Step 2

When you enter a public toilet take a good amount of toilet tissue and wipe off the seat, rim and now flush the toilet. If you have a small child do it for them to make sure it's free of urine, germs or other unwanted body fluids.

  3. Step 3

I suggest that you carry Clorox or baby wipes in your purse or pocket. You can put them in a plastic bag for convenience. After you wipe off the seat and rim with toilet tissue use the Clorox or baby wipes to wipe it down.

  4. Step 4

If the restroom offers seat covers use them. If not tear off a couple of layers of toilet tissue and put on the seat, be sure to get the front of the rim.

  5. Step 5

Once you have the seat covered do not sit on it, instead sit on your hand to support yourself.

  6. Step 6

After you have finished using the restroom be sure and flush the toilet with a piece of toilet paper or your foot and not your bare hand.

  7. Step 7

Open the door to the stall in the same manner.

  8. Step 8

Wash your hands with soap and warm water thoroughly.

  9. Step 9

Cut off the sink water with the paper towel or a piece of toilet tissue.

  10. Step 10

Open the door as you leave with a piece of paper towel or a piece of toilet paper or your sleeve if you don't have anything else. A lot of people believe it of not don't wash their hands when they are done using the bathroom. Just think about what could be on their hands. When you walk out of the public toilet your hands and rear-end will be germ free.

on 5/22/2009 Great article! Noticed you repeated yourself like 3 times there though, I will have to remember that next time I use a public restroom.
