How to Make a Memorial Day Wreath With Kids

Keep your kids busy on this 3 day holiday by creating a Memorial Day wreath. Most of the time, there is a rainy day over the weekend, so that would be the perfect opportunity to get the craft box out.

After making your wreath, concider donating it to a veteran's hospital.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Paper plate
• Red, white and blue tissue paper
• Glue
• Scissors
• Piece of yarn or string
• Glitter

1. Measure and cut a piece of string or yarn to the desired length for the hanger. Punch two holes on the top of the paper plate for your hanger attachment.

2. Cut out the center of the plate. You can save this piece for future crafts. Then cut out 5" x 5" squares of of the red, white and blue tissue paper. Start out with a small amount to cover your surface.

3. Crumple tissue and apply a dab a glue to the plate. Attach and alternate the colors around your circle until full.

4. Dab small dots of glue around wreath. Sprinkle glitter. Let dry and then attach your hanger.

Tips & Warnings

• Lay down a covering on your work area to help with the clean up of glitter messes
• Use non toxic materials
