Step 1
First pick a budget format to design your template according to your household schedule.

Second List all your household income sources in one budget category and expenses in another on your template.

Third group your household expenses and prioritize them by importance on your budget template.

Next make two columns on your household template to record your budget amounts for each income and expense category. Make one a Projected Household Budget Amount and the other an Actual Household Budget Amount.

List an estimated amount for each of your household budget categories and total them on your template.

Subtract your projected household expense totals from your projected income to get a balance on the budget template.

Make necessary adjustments to cut down these amounts on your household template and balance until you are satisfied with your final budget total.

Now record your budget amounts in your actual household columns as they arise and adjust in your template where necessary by comparing to your projected totals to see where you are off.
