Things You'll Need:
- BBQ
- Suntan lotion
- camera
-
Step 1
If you live in Houston then you can do several things to celebrate and honor the fallen soldiers. Typically since the weather in May is nice with sunshine the usual thing to do is to organize a BBQ with family and friends with hamburgers, grilled vegetables, sodas and beer and do not forget sunscreen, the sun in Texas is hot.
-
Step 2
Take the family out to see the sea turtle country located in Galveston, south of Houston, and this is all operated by the National Marine Fisheries Service. If you have children this can be a fun alternative and the kids will love it.
-
Step 3
Opt for going to the Museum of Natural Science and where you can admire the butterfly exhibit or the dinosaur one but do not forget to visit the Wiess Energy Hall, or enjoy one of their IMAX films and also if you have time and the possibility visit the Planetarium shows
-
Step 4
Go visit Sam Houston Park where you will find historical houses from the 19th century and you can also take a tour with the Heritage Society which will bring you through a museum, tearooms and gift shops
