How to Make a Dash Costume From The Incredibles
Store-bought Halloween costumes can be pricey. Because costumes are most likely worn for just one night, buying a costume can be a waste of money. Making your child's costume is cost-effective and allows you to express creativity. It's even possible to make costumes of characters from popular children's movies, such as a costume of Dash from Disney's "The Incredibles."
Things You'll Need
- Tight long-sleeve red shirt (solid-colored pajamas work)
- Tight long red leggings or pajama bottoms
- Iron-on transfer paper for computer printer
- Black "Speedo" style swimsuit
- Black face paint
- Black boots
- Rubber dish gloves
- Black spray paint
Instructions
-
-
1
Spray paint the rubber dish gloves with the black paint. Allow the paint to dry thoroughly while you create the rest of the Dash costume.
-
2
Use your computer's drawing application (such as Microsoft Paint) to draw a re-creation of the Incredibles' logo. You can find examples of the logo online (see Resources).
-
-
3
Print the Incredibles' logo onto iron-on transfer paper using your computer and printer. Use iron-on transfer paper that is suitable for dark fabric so that the image will be as bold and crisp as possible.
-
4
Iron the Incredibles' logo onto the red shirt. This will be the top half of the Dash costume.
-
5
Put on the red pants, tucking the shirt into the waistband of the pants. Pull the black Speedo-style swimsuit over the red pants.
-
6
Use the black face paint to create a black mask around the eyes. Do not extend the mask all the way to the temples like a Lone Ranger mask. Dash of the Incredibles wears a mask that is just around the eyes, up to the brow bone.
-
7
Finish the Dash Incredibles costume by adding a pair of black boots. Add the now-dry black rubber gloves, and the Dash costume is complete.
