Instructions

    • 1

Cut the external wires from the Gamecube box, using the wire cutters. Be sure that you cut the wires as close to the box as possible to keep them from snagging on anything later.

    • 2

Plug in the hot glue gun, and the hot knife for plastic cutting. Allow them to heat to the appropriate temperature.

    • 3

Mark a white pencil line around the Gamecube 1 inch from the top of the box, using the ruler to get an accurate measurement.

    • 4

With your hot knife, cut deeply into the box along the white pencil line.

    • 5

Pull up on the top section that you have just cut, jiggle it to loosen the insides, and remove the top. You may need to use the hot knife again for places that are sticking.

    • 6

Remove all the interior pieces of the box with the hot knife, making the interior walls on the box and lid as smooth as possible.

    • 7

Cut a piece of plastic insulation that is the same size as the box's bottom, and glue it to the inside bottom of the cube, allowing the excess plastic to climb up the sides of the cube.

    • 8

Cut a piece of plastic insulation that is the height of the box and four times the width, and glue it around the inside walls of the cube.

    • 9

Glue down all the edges of the plastic insulation.

    • 10

Screw the hinges onto the back side of the Gamecube, attaching the top piece and the bottom piece.

    • 11

Screw the handle to the lid using the hardware included in the handle kit.

    • 12

Attach the latch to the front of the lid according to the instructions for the particular latch you chose.

Tips & Warnings

  • Wear safety glasses throughout this process to protect your eyes from flying bits of plastic and metal.
