      Spread a few thicknesses of paper towels on the counter. Pour a little baking soda into a small bowl.

      Disassemble the espresso maker.

      Sprinkle the insides of top and bottom chambers with baking soda. Scrub and rinse. Pay special attention to the areas that intersect the gasket. Clean the gasket, funnel filter, filter plate and leveler.

      Clean inside the central column using a nipple brush.

      Clean the corners and spout of upper and lower chambers using a bottle brush. Use a mild soap solution if oily coffee residue persists.
