How to Clean a Stovetop Espresso Maker
Espresso made at home is as delicious as what you buy at a coffeehouse as long as the appliance in which you brew it is clean. In addition, a well-maintained espresso maker seals better, almost elininating the risk of explosion when internal pressure builds. Does this Spark an idea?

- Baking soda
- Small bowl
- Bottle brush
- Nipple brush
- Sponge
- Paper towels
- Soap solution (optional)

Spread a few thicknesses of paper towels on the counter. Pour a little baking soda into a small bowl.

Sprinkle the insides of top and bottom chambers with baking soda. Scrub and rinse. Pay special attention to the areas that intersect the gasket. Clean the gasket, funnel filter, filter plate and leveler.

Finish by polishing the outside.

Tips & Warnings
If you clean the espresso maker with water after every brewing session, you will seldom need to deep-clean it.
Examine the threads and areas above and below gasket for flaws or dirt. Only with a good seal is espresso brewing safe.
