How to Find a Bridal Registry

It has become common practice for engaged couples to create gift registries as they prepare for their wedding. Although some couples register at only one store, it is not unusual for people to register at two or more stores in order to cover the different types of items they would like to receive. Finding and using a bridal registry is a simple process that takes the guesswork out of wedding gift shopping and reduces the number of items a couple needs to return after the wedding. Stores make gift registries easy to access and use for either online or in-store purchases.

Instructions

  1. Online Bridal Registry - Location Known

    • 1

Find out at what store the couple is registered. This information is often included in a wedding or bridal shower invitation, or you can call a member of the bridal party to ask.

    • 2

Go to that store's website, such as www.target.com or www.bedbathandbeyond.com.

    • 3

Click on the Gift Registries link and choose the option to search for Wedding Registries.

    • 4

Enter the name of the bride and/or groom to find the registry.

    • 5

Choose the correct registry by verifying the bride and groom's names, the state where the wedding is taking place and the wedding date.

    • 6

Print the registry list and take it to the store, or purchase items online directly from the registry list.

    In-Store Bridal Registry

    • 7

Find out where the couple is registered either by calling a member of the bridal party or by looking at information in the wedding or bridal shower invitation.

    • 8

Go to the store at which the couple is registered, such as Macy's, Bed Bath and Beyond or Target.

    • 9

Ask a customer service representative for a printed registry list. Some stores such as Target have computers available near their customer service department where customers can locate and print a bridal registry for themselves.

    • 10

Use the registry to guide your in-store shopping.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you cannot find out where the couple is registered, try searching for their registry at The Knot (See Resources). Many couples use this site for wedding information and it provides a link to couples' registries. When you purchase gifts in-store off a registry, be sure to show the cashier the registry list so that she can apply your purchase to the registry.
