How to Write a Resume for a Student Nurse
As a student nurse, your resume is an opportunity to outline your academic achievements, areas of professional knowledge, clinical experience and volunteer work. Your resume should be succinct but thorough, covering your pertinent work experience and education in a way that human resources representatives can absorb quickly.

1
Write an objective statement. Begin your resume with a two- or three-sentence overview of your professional experience and what type of nursing position you are seeking.
-
2
List your nursing education. Begin by listing what nursing degree you are working toward, as well as any other degrees you have earned previously. Also include your anticipated graduation date, grade point average and Latin honors.

3
Specify what licenses and certifications you hold. If you are not yet licensed, but have signed up for your state's licensing examination, include the date that you will be taking it.
-
4
Describe your clinical experience. Your resume should include a listing of work experience in the medical field, including volunteer positions and internships with hospitals, clinics and private practices. For each position, describe your responsibilities, how many patients you cared for and the type of practice.

5
Talk about your accomplishments and memberships. If you are a member of any student nurse associations list them on your resume, along with any academic or professional recognition you've received.

6
List your publications and research. If you have contributed to any publications or worked on academic research projects, cite them on your resume.
