There are tons of skin care products on the market that promise to work miracles. With a little information, you'll be able to sort them out and find the products that work for you.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Toners
  • Exfoliating Products
  • Facial Mud Mask
  • Moisturizers

Step1
Determine your skin type (see "How to Determine Your Skin Type"). This will help you choose a mask that has what you need.
Step2
Look for a mask that is deep-cleaning and has mud or clay in its name if you have oily skin.
Step3
Choose a moisturizing mask for dry skin.
Step4
Look for a perfecting or replenishing mask if your skin is dull or tired.
Step5
Select a soothing mask for skin that is blotchy or tight.
Step6
Ask questions. Your nearest department store will have knowledgeable employees at various cosmetic counters who can help you with questions and concerns regarding your skin.
Step7
Purchase a mask and try it out at home. If you're not satisfied, return it and continue your search.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you're having a hard time selecting a mask, go with a line that you've been satisfied with in the past.
  • If you want answers from a trained expert, call a spa that performs facials and ask to speak with an esthetician.
  • Many people are allergic to natural products found in facial masks.

on 9/8/2006 I have dry skin, but still get spots every now and then. The problem is gone since I use this method. First, I use steam (or go to a steam room) to open the poses on my face, use normal face cleaning products (do not use scrub because the stuff in it will stay in the poses!) to clean my face and wash with cold water afterward. Then I detox my face with mud. Wash it. Now the skin is baby soft, but dry. So the next step is a honey and lemon mask to gain moisture. Wash it off and put on a water based face lotion.
