Making toasted cheese sandwiches, toasting bagels, and heating up frozen waffles can leave your toaster oven a mess. It only takes a few minutes to clean it up - leaving your toaster oven smell free and shining!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sponge
  • Dish Soap
  • Formula 409 Kitchen or equivalent cleaning spray
  • Plastic scrubby
  1. Step 1

    Unplug your toaster oven and make sure it is cool before your begin.

  2. Step 2

    If your toaster oven has a tray or a removable bottom, slide it out and bring it to the sink. Scrub it clean with a plastic dish scrubby and soapy water. Rinse it clean and dry it.

  3. Step 3

    Remove the racks or slide them out of your way, depending on what is easiest for you model. Scrub them clean with soapy water and a plastic scrubby. Rinse or wipe them clean with water.

  4. Step 4

    Wipe out the bottom and sides on the interior using a sponge dampened with soapy water. Rinse off the crumbs as they accumulate on the sponge. If you hit some particularly burnt on mess, use the plastic scrubby.

  5. Step 5

    Use the Formula 409 cleaning spray and the sponge to clean off the glass door. If you hit a tough spot, switch to the plastic scrubby.

  6. Step 6

    Wipe down all interior surfaces with a clean, damp sponge to remove cleaner residue.

  7. Step 7

    If you removed any trays, rack, removable bottoms, etc. put them back now.

  8. Step 8

    Wipe down the exterior with a damp sponge and Formula 409 cleaning spray.

  9. Step 9

    Make sure you have wiped the vents clean.

  10. Step 10

    Plug in your toaster oven and you are ready to start toasting again.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never clean an appliance when it is plugged in.
  • Do not touch coils or get cleaning solutions on them. If you do, gently wipe them off with water.
  • Always wipe down surfaces that may come in contact with your food using plain water if you have used a cleaner on them.
  • Don't use steel wool on the glass - it will scratch it up.
