Bad credit does not stay on your record forever.
Bad credit does not stay on your record forever.

Do you want to know how to get credit cards with bad credit history? You can get credit cards by slowly increasing your credit and by waiting out your bad credit history. Time, on time payments and disputing discrepancies will eventually clean up your bad credit history.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

CLEAN UP YOUR CREDIT - Start by cleaning up your bad credit history as best you can. You can do so by making all of your payments on time and by fighting any discrepancies on your report. Get your free annual credit report and then dispute any items on it that are incorrect. This will help you when you want to apply for additional lines of credit.

  2. Step 2

SECURED CREDIT CARD - Establish new credit by obtaining a secured credit card. A secured credit card is actually a card that you have paid for in advance. You put money on the card and then you are able to charge that amount of money on the card.

  3. Step 3

TIME - Bad credit and derogatory credit will eventually fall off of your credit report. It may take up to ten years for items such as bankruptcy. Other derogatory credit items may be removed off of your credit in just three years. If you have a foreclosure you will be able to buy a home again after three years although the foreclosure will still be on your credit. If enough time has passed but the derogatory items are still on your credit, you can dispute the items and have them removed because they have expired. Each type of derogatory credit has a different amount of time that it stays on a credit report. Research your derogatory credit to find out how long it will stay on your credit report. You can easily get credit cards with bad credit history if you work to improve it.

  4. Step 4

RETAIL CREDIT CARDS - If your credit is less than perfect you can usually still get retail credit cards, gas credit cards and office supply store credit cards. These cards are normally easy to get. Do not apply for more than one or two cards per month. Applying for two many credit cards does not look good on your credit report. All of the inquiries will be listed even if you were denied credit. A few retail credit cards and a secure credit card will start improving your credit.

Now you know how to get credit cards with bad credit history, so start improving your credit today.
