Micro greens are the hottest food trend of 2009 - grow some and find out why. Growing micro greens is as easy as 1-2-3. No special skills or equipment is needed.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

    The container you use for your micro greens some rocks or broken pottery for drainage. Fill containers with 2” of soil, and moisten with warm water prior to adding seeds. Best seeds to choose are arugula, spinach, or mixed
    greens like mesculun.

  2. Step 2

    Sprinkle seeds on damp soil. Take potting mixture in both hands, and rub hands together over seeds to cover with a thin soil blanket. Press this layer down gently with palms. Spray soil with a light mist until damp, and cover container with plastic wrap.

  3. Step 3

    Place container on top of the refrigerator (for warmth), and check daily for signs of germination. Most greens start sprouting within 3-7 days of planting, and are ready to eat as soon as the first true leaves appear. When the first seedlings start to show, remove plastic wrap.
