  • An imagination to look for creative uses to use them for around the house
  1. Step 1
    Keep your microwave clean!

Cover bowls or dishes when cooking in the microwave. Coffee filters make excellent covers. You know when my husband cooks in the microwave, it seems that he always forgets to use paper towels to prevent splatters but using coffee filters instead my husband will never forget to cover his food when he puts it in the microwave!

  2. Step 2
    No streaks!

Clean windows and mirrors. Coffee filters are lint-free so they'll leave windows sparkling. This is a great idea if you have a lot of sticky little hands running around in your house touching windows or walls.

  3. Step 3

Protect China Separate your good dishes by putting a coffee filter between each dish. This helps from the bottom of the plate from scratching the top surfaces of your fine China. In most cases the coffee filters are the perfect diameter for the plates.

  4. Step 4
    Filter the wine!
    Filter the wine!

Filter broken cork from wine. If you break the cork when opening a wine bottle, filter the wine through a coffee filter. That way your party guests won't get a piece of cork in their wine glass once it is served to them.

  5. Step 5

Protect a cast-iron skillet. Place a coffee filter in the skillet to absorb moisture and prevent rust. This is also a way to keep your skillet in tip top shape for your next meal so that your food will taste fantastic!

  6. Step 6

Apply shoe polish. Ball up a lint-free coffee filter.

  7. Step 7
    Recycle and Reuse!

Recycle frying oil. After frying, strain oil through a sieve lined with a coffee filter. You know with the cost of oil these days in the store it is excellent way to make your spending budget spread farther than before!

  8. Step 8

Weigh chopped foods. Place chopped ingredients in a coffee filter on a kitchen scale. To keep your scale surface clean and sanitary.

  9. Step 9
    Easy wrapper!

Hold tacos. Coffee filters make convenient wrappers for messy foods.

  10. Step 10
    Keep hydrated!

Stop the soil from leaking out of a plant pot. Line a plant pot with a coffee filter to prevent the soil from going through the drainage holes. In drier climates this is the perfect way to have your plants to stay hydrated longer and that cuts down on your home water bill!
