Things You'll Need:

  • Hair Dryer
  • Solvent
  1. Step 1

Masking tape can be a nuisance to remove from rubber or any other surface but it is not impossible. There are a couple different methods to try that can aid in the removal of masking tape.

  2. Step 2

The first method is using a hair dryer. Simply try running a hair dryer over the backing of the tape to soften and loosen the adhesive. Try heating the tape for 1-2 minutes. After it has been heated, try to remove the tape.

  3. Step 3

If applying heat does not help to remove the masking tape, then apply solvent directly onto the tape. Let the solvent soak for approximately 5-10 minutes. After the solvent has sufficiently soaked in, remove the tape from the rubber surface.

Tips & Warnings
  • Follow all instructions on the solvent label
  • Use caution when using a hair dryer, the surface can be hot
