This summer instead of waiting for the mosquitoes to bite or the gnats to drive you buggy, why not use a few simple items from your cabinets as insect repellent.

Difficulty: Easy

    Skin-So-Soft

Avon's Skin-So-Soft is one of the best insect repellent around. It has been reviewed in outdoor magazines and in the news. Just put it on your skin as directed on the container and you will have soft skin and no bugs.

  2. Step 2
    Vicks VapoRub

If you want something that is probably in your kitchen or bathroom cabinets right now, then why not try:

Vicks VapoRub...it not only helps you breath better, but it will repel insects, including mosquitoes. Bugs can't handle the smell of Vicks Vapor Rub so they leave you alone.

  3. Step 3
    Listerine to repel insects
    Listerine to repel insects

Horseflies and other winged insects hate the smell of Listerine...using a cotton ball rub the Listerine on all exposed skin.

  4. Step 4

Did you know that eating Garlic can cause your body to give off a faint odor that insects find unappealing so they try to get far away from the smell.

Using garlic powder in your meals and or taking garlic tablets can give your body this insect repellent body odor.

Tips & Warnings
  • 900,000 different types of insects have been discovered by Scientist
  • Did you know there are 4 ingredients in commercial insect repellents that can cause brain damage: Butane, DEET, Isobutane and Propane...
