How to Make an Adult Ladybug Costume

Halloween costumes usually range from whimsical to scary. In recent years, adult costumes have taken on an air of sexiness. If you'd like to create your own sexy Halloween costume, make an adult costume that is not the typical sexy nurse or Playboy bunny. Instead, put a twist on a cute children's costume. For example, you can make a ladybug costume that shows off your sexy side without being trashy.

Things You'll Need

• Red strapless satin dress
• Black satin fabric
• Double-sided no-sew fusible webbing
• Black sheer pantyhose
• High-heel shoes (black or red)
• Plastic headband (black)
• Black pipe cleaners
• Two red pom-pom balls

Instructions

1. Lay out the black satin fabric and iron out the creases. Place the double-sided no-sew fusible webbing onto the black fabric and iron it onto the black fabric according to the directions. Allow the fabric and webbing to cool.

2. Bend pipe cleaners around the plastic headband to form antennae. Glue one red pom-pom to the end of each pipe cleaner.

3. Cut circles out of the black satin fabric, leaving the paper backing of the fusible web attached to each circle.

4. Remove the circles of paper from the back of each black circle, one at a time. Use the satin setting on your iron and iron the black spots onto the red dress.

5. When the dress is finished, put it on and complete the adult ladybug costume by adding the black pantyhose, heels and headband. Use dramatic, evening makeup.
