We do almost everything online, so why not date online? I've used online personals sites for almost ten years now. It's brought some of my best boyfriends into my life.

What you say (and don't say) can bring more dates into your life.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • computer with internet connection
  • digital photos
  • an optimistic attitude
  1. Step 1

Pick a username. Make it original and descriptive. Flirty is good too. Shy away from obviously sexual innuendos and bra size unless you're looking for casual play.

  2. Step 2

Pick two or more great photos of you. Make sure they are current. Doesn't matter how great a person you are, if you don't look like your photo (or better), you won't get a second date. Post a photo. Most people won't look at your profile if there's no picture.

  3. Step 3

Think about your assets and write about those. Also, never, ever say that you're on the site as a last resort. You'll offend the people who aren't ashamed to be online dating and you'll come across desperate to everyone.

  4. Step 4

Think about what you are looking for in a date/partner. List their assets and positive points. Don't focus on the things you don't want (no drama, no kids, etc.). Invariably, it attracts the exact people you aren't looking for!

  5. Step 5

It's a good idea to actual pay for member benefits. You don't have to do it long-term. A month or two is usually sufficient but you want to be able to send messages back and forth, flirt and actually get an online connection offline.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do be proactive and contact people as well as wait for them to contact you.
  • Be honest but you don't have to write your memoirs.
  • Be confident and fairly happy with your life. It comes across in your profile.
  • Don't give out your personal information until you've exchanged a few messages.
  • Don't stay online forever. Get out and meet each other sooner rather than later.
