Olive oil is great for cooking, but did you know that it had many uses as a beauty aid too?

Here you will find out how to use it to give your hair that healthy shiny radiance, which it deserves.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Olive oil
  • fingers
  • small dish or sauce pan
  • saran wrap or shower cap
  1. Step 1

Pour a few tablespoons of Olive oil into a sauce pan and heat it just enough to get it warm and smooth. You can also add it to a microwave safe dish and heat it for a few seconds.

To get your hair shiny you will be using this as a hot oil treatment so it should be hot but not so much that you can't touch it.

  2. Step 2

Pour out the Olive oil into a small bowl or dish that you can easily get your fingers into.

  3. Step 3

Scoop some of it onto your fingers and massage it into your tips and work your way up the strands. Avoid adding it near the roots; unless you suffer from excessively dry scalp then you can work it through the roots as well.

Since I don't use this beauty treatment on my roots I usually gather it into a ponytail to get the majority worked in then remove it to get the area just below the roots.

  4. Step 4

Put on a good fitting shower cap or you can also wrap up your hair in saran or plastic wrap. I prefer the saran wrap when I am using this beauty treatment for the shiny factor.

  5. Step 5

Leave on for several minutes (10 - 20).

I generally leave it on for about 7 minutes but my hair gets oily very easy.

  6. Step 6

Shampoo and rinse your hair with cool to lukewarm water. You don't want to use hot because it can strip all of the oil from your hair and it won't end up as shiny as you want it to be.

Tips & Warnings
  • Place a towel in the dryer before you do your beauty treatment and get it warm and when you wrap your hair in the shower cap or saran wrap you can add the towel to give the treatment and extra boost.
