Deal With Your Roommate's Mood Swings

Have a roommate and he/she seems to go from 0 to 60 for no apparent reason? Do you not know how to confront them about the issues of yelling or anger? This article will give you a better idea on how to deal with that roommate.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    When your roommate starts to 'go off' let him. Trying to shut them up could only make it worse. So let if they are talking to you just pay attention and listen to what they have to say.

  2. Step 2

    Give it time before you walk up and talk to them about there moodiness.

  3. Step 3

    When you do plan on talking to them, make sure it is only the two of you. If they are under a lot of stress about school or work, tell them you understand and that you want to find a way to help.

  4. Step 4

    You have to explain to them that having mood swings will make all there friends be around them less.

  5. Step 5

    Ask if they want to talk about something, maybe you could help them get something off your chest.

  6. Step 6

    If you think it will help, ask them if they thought about going to the counseling center for help. Explain that a lot of people, well known and admirable, have been to a counselor for help in life.
