There is nothing I hate more than a sore throat. Out of all the cold symptoms that you might experience to me a sore throat is the worst. But luckily there are quite a few different natural remedies to sooth and shorten the duration of your sore throat.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

First, make a cup of cayenne pepper tea. All that you have to do is to add a little lemon and raw honey to a cup of tea and then sprinkle some cayenne pepper into the tea. Mix well and drink. The cayenne pepper acts as a natural pain reliever as well as an antiseptic.

  2. Step 2

Then, if you would rather not try the tea. This sore throat soothing drink might be more to your taste. Just add 3 tsp. of raw honey and 3 tsp. of apple cider vinegar to 8 oz. of hot water and sip on it. It doesn't taste all that bad and works well for most sore throats.

  3. Step 3

Next, if you don't have anything else on hand try gargling or drinking some pickle juice. The pickle juice which contains vinegar will quickly sooth that sore throat.

  4. Step 4

Finally, slippery Elm works great to sooth that sore throat. You can either purchase the lozenges to suck on, or capsules. And then sprinkle a little into a cup of hot tea with lemon and honey. This works great for children in place of the cayenne pepper.

Tips & Warnings
  • Although it's not as powerful as Cayenne Pepper, Apple cider vinegar is a natural antiseptic.
  • Probably the best honey that you can find is the Manuka honey which is known for it's special antiseptic healing properties.
