Funny Office Pranks
Funny Office Pranks

Funny office pranks do not need to be relegated just to April Fool's Day.

Learn how to pull some fun pranks on your office co-workers any time of the year.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Sense of Humor
  1. Step 1
    That Darn Paper Clip
    That Darn Paper Clip

Pull the old "Where is that Darn Paper Clip?" prank.

This is an easy and fun prank to pull that will drive co-workers crazy. Put a paperclip on the top right hand corner of a piece of paper and make at least 40 copies of it on your office copy machine.

Open the copy machine and take out the ream of paper in the machine. Put the copies you just made back on top of the batch and put the ream of paper back in the machine.

Now when people go to make copies, their copies are going to come out with a paper clip on top, but when they look at their original or the top of the copier they won’t be able to find the paper clip. Count how many times they keep trying to make a “clean” copy before finally checking the ream of paper.

  2. Step 2
    Fake Message Prank

    Leave A Fake Phone Message

Leave a phone message on their desk that a Mr. Lyon or a Mr. Behr called and that they need a return phone call right away. Then leave the phone number of the local zoo. Watch their face as they finally put two and two together. If you get lucky, they might not notice at first and you will get to hear them actually ask the zoo to speak to Mr. Behr or Mr. Lyon.

  3. Step 3
    Monkey Pictures

Change The Personal Pictures On Their Desk or Wall

This is a great one if you have a little time. Borrow all the family and friends pictures they have on their desk and scan them into your computer. Photoshop little monkey faces or funny faces onto each person but keep the rest of the picture the same.

Replace the pictures exactly where you found them and see how long it takes for them to look at the pictures closely enough to notice.

  4. Step 4
    Phony Crime Scene

    Pull The "Crime Scene" Prank

Get in at least an hour earlier than your co-worker and create a “chalk” outline of a dead body on the floor of their office or cubicle with masking tape (preferably white). Wrap the outside of their office door or cubicle with fake bright yellow crime scene tape.

If you want to take it a step further have a friend dressed in a policeman’s uniform with a pad in his hand taking notes when your coworker walks in and watch the expression on their face when they believe that someone was actually killed there.

  5. Step 5
    Mess With Their Computer
    Mess With Their Computer

    Mess With Their Computer.

If you don’t have a lot of time to pull a prank, here are a couple of fun ways to simply mess with a co-workers computer.

Change their desktop background and their screensaver to a funny picture of them that you photo-shopped.

Get an old keyboard out of the storage room, pop off the keys and rearrange them, then re-hook up the new keyboard to their computer. (Works best if they are a hunt and peck typist). Spell a funny message in the middle of the board like GOTCHA!

Change their mouse settings so instead of getting an hour glass while they are waiting for a page to upload they get a peeling banana or something to that effect.

Take the little ball out of their mouse and replace the cover. Then take a picture of the ball and send them an email telling them that you are holding it for ransom.

Put a small piece of clear tape over the ball of their mouse so their mouse won’t work.

Tips & Warnings
  • Never pull a prank on a co-worker you do not get along with. Chances are it will not be seen as funny and it could get you in trouble with the boss.
  • Make sure the co-worker you pull a prank on has a sense of humor. If they overact to being a little embarrassed, it may cause you trouble down the line.
