September is approaching and you remember it is Labor Day Weekend coming up. With a long weekend available, planning out a Labor Day party gives you a little wiggle room as guests can travel to arrive from a distance. With the summer over, kids back to school and most adults back from vacation, Labor Day party should be about relaxing and enjoying the fall. Here is how to plan out a family Labor Day party.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

With the long weekend, many people will plan getaways from the house over Labor day weekend. So be sure to get your invitations for labor day out in the mail early as possible to be sure everyone has a chance to respond and lock up the weekend. You could even send them out as early as late July or early August just to be sure.

  2. Step 2

Pick a theme when planning out your Labor Day party. Everyone loves a theme and helps with the rest of the planning. Let your audience drive the theme. If there will be children there be sure the theme is appropriate versus a party which is all adults or may include coworkers.

  3. Step 3

Labor Day weekend party decorations can range in style and can go from simple patriotic to sticking to the theme you have picked for the party. Be sure to coer the basics with balloons, tablecloths, napkins, paper plates and streamers all that match the theme you set out.

  4. Step 4

Games make any party so be sure to consider what type of games you can play at your Labor Day party. Classic party games are always a winner but if you can work your games to match your theme that is even better.

  5. Step 5

Consider your food options. September is still usually pretty nice outside in most parts of the country around Labor Day weekend so a barbeque is still the best option for proving something for your guests. Hot dogs, hamburgers and whatever else you can work on the grill are always winners.

Tips & Warnings
  • Planning out a party takes a little thought but if you give yourself enough time you can be sure to have a great Labor Day weekend party this year and set the tone for the rest of the fall season.
