Take a break from your serious art working and have a little fun making these miniature works of art! ACEOs are minature works of art and can also make you a few extra dollars!

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Watercolor Paper or high quality artist paper
  • Paper Cutter
  • Paints, colored pencils and other art supplies
  • Small paint brushes
  • Scrapbooking pen
  1. Step 1

Take a piece of high quality artist drawing paper or watercolor paper and cut your sheet up in small 2.5 x 3.5 pieces. You need a paper cutter to do this, you can use scissors but your edges won't be as straight and neat.

  2. Step 2

After you get your pieces cut out, take a sketch pencil and sketch out a drawing on the tiny card. This is where your imagination comes in! You can sketch out anything, but I prefer fantasy - fairies, mermaids and other mythical creatures!

  3. Step 3

If you are going to use watercolor paints to paint your ACEO then you will want to take your scrap booking pen and go over your pencil drawing and then erase all your pencil lines, if you are using acrylics it doesn't matter, just make sure you use the smallest paint brush you can find! Also, if you are going to use colored pencils then you don't have to use the scrap booking pen then either.

  4. Step 4

Finish painting (or coloring) your work of art and let it dry. After they dries you can list them for sale on ebay and make a few extra dollars. Remember, the more detailed ACEOs are the more you can get for them!

Tips & Warnings
  • You can use mixed media on your cards.
  • Watercolor paper is good for any kind of medium, it is heavy, strong and a great texture for any paint or pencil. Definitely use watercolor paper if you are using watercolor paints.
  • You can use a sealer to seal your painting if you want to.
