Step 1
Clean your grill if needed. No matter how you plan to prepare your asparagus, your first step is always to clean it. This way, you can make sure you have removed any dirt particles that haven’t already been washed away. There’s nothing worse than eating your favorite dish, and suddenly feeling something gritty scraping across your teeth.
-
Step 2
Before cooking, cut off the bottoms of the stalks, where the vibrant green color has started to fade. This part of asparagus is tough and is often removed.
-
Step 3
Preheat your grill. You don’t want to add asparagus until it is nice and hot.
-
Step 4
To prep your asparagus, brush them with some kind of oil, like extra virgin olive oil. You can then sprinkle on salt, pepper, and any other seasonings you would like.
-
Step 5
Once the girl is nice and hot, put your asparagus on the grill. How long you should let your asparagus cook is up for debate. Some people like their asparagus firm, and suggest removing the asparagus from the grill as soon as it starts to get soft. Others like it much softer and suggest cooking it longer. If this is your first time grilling asparagus, let it cook for about 5 minutes, turning it frequently so it won’t burn.
