Download a Yahoo Messenger theme file to your computer desktop. Many themes are available for download online.

Right-click on the file and choose "Unzip."

Select "C:" drive when asked where to save the unzipped file. Click "Program Files" and choose "Yahoo!." Open the "Shared" folder and double-click "Graphics" to open the folder. Click "New Folder" on the menu bar. Type in a name for the theme folder. Click "Save" to save the theme file in the new folder.

Open Yahoo! Messenger.
